Ang… you know that I tried to join the Antarctic team several years ago. Problem is now, even though it would be a heck of an adventure, I cannot afford to lose or truncate my retirement plan.

I realize it's a developed modern country with just about the same creature comforts we have in the U.S., but it's still a different cultural comfort zone. Most of the locals speak fluent English, so that wasn't a problem, but, things are just different there in so many ways. We also went to Paris and I was extremely nervous about that, but when we got there, just about everyone we came into contact with was kind and helpful. There was no rudeness at all. I thought once they realized we were Americans people would shun us, but it wasn't that way at all.
