Sorry I am so late in getting a response to this...

Ang... you know that I tried to join the Antarctic team several years ago. Problem is now, even though it would be a heck of an adventure, I cannot afford to lose or truncate my retirement plan.

For any of you youngsters out there that want a hell of an adventure, post your email to Ang and she will tell you how to get in touch with Raytheon and how to apply for the positions down there.

Seriously though, speaking of traveling to someplace outside my comfort level, last year I went to Amsterdam with some friends and although I had a pretty good time overall, it was definitely outside my comfor level. I realize it's a developed modern country with just about the same creature comforts we have in the U.S., but it's still a different cultural comfort zone. Most of the locals speak fluent English, so that wasn't a problem, but, things are just different there in so many ways. We also went to Paris and I was extremely nervous about that, but when we got there, just about everyone we came into contact with was kind and helpful. There was no rudeness at all. I thought once they realized we were Americans people would shun us, but it wasn't that way at all.
